Terms of Use

These are the terms for using the Heardlist app. We've tried to keep them short and clear. Please read them before you create your profile: by tapping Continue on the welcome screen, you agree to them.

1. Who's behind Heardlist

Heardlist is run by Gustaf Bratt, a private individual in Sweden. In these terms, they're referred to as “we” and “us.”

2. What Heardlist is

Heardlist is a free app where you log the concerts you've been to and collect the songs you've heard live. The app loads setlists, shows statistics about your collection, and lets you follow others, see their shows in Feed, and compare collections.

3. Your account

• You sign in with Apple or Google. Your account is personal and may not be shared or transferred.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Heardlist.
• You're responsible for what's done from your account.
• You can delete your account whenever you want, in the app under Profile. This deletes your profile, your shows, and everything else that belongs to the account, and none of it can be recovered. Reports you've sent are the only exception: they're kept, but no longer linked to you.

4. What others can see

If your profile is visible, other users can see your name, your username, your shows (artist, venue, and date) and when you logged them, and which songs you heard, including the ones you marked as missed. You can also be suggested to others in Feed. You can turn off Visible to others at any time under Profile. Your notes about a show are always private.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

Heardlist is for everyone who loves live music. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and for users who treat others badly. This means you may not:

• choose a name or username that is offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening, or otherwise objectionable, or that demeans anyone for their origin, skin color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or age;
• use Nazi or other hate symbols, codes, or messages;
• pretend to be someone else, or to speak for Heardlist, for example with names like admin, support, or Heardlist;
• harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users;
• post someone else's personal information;
• send spam, create accounts in bulk, or automatically collect content from the app;
• try to get around the app's protections, such as the name filter, blocking, or limits on how much data can be loaded;
• use Heardlist for anything illegal.

The app automatically stops names that contain certain offensive words. The filter doesn't catch everything, and a name that gets past it isn't allowed just because it got past.

6. Report and block

You can report a user who breaks these terms, and you can block a user. Someone you block can no longer see your profile, and you won't see theirs.

7. What we do when someone breaks these terms

We review reports, usually within 24 hours. If an account breaks these terms, we may, without warning first:

• change or remove the name or other content;
• hide the profile from others;
• suspend the account temporarily or delete it permanently.

We may report serious cases, such as threats, to the police.

8. Data from other services

Much of what you see in Heardlist comes from other services:

• Setlists come from setlist.fm, where they're entered by its users. They may be incomplete or wrong, and the terms of setlist.fm apply to that data.
• Artist information comes from MusicBrainz and Wikipedia.
• Upcoming shows come from Ticketmaster.
• Album artwork and song previews come from Apple.

We're not responsible for that data being accurate or complete, and we can't promise it will always be available.

Apple, Apple Music, and iTunes are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

9. Rights

The app, its design, and its code belong to us. What you write yourself, such as your name and your notes, is yours. You give us the right to store it and display it in Heardlist as part of how the app works, for example showing your name to others if your profile is visible. That right ends when you delete the content or your account, except for reports you've sent, which we keep so that we can act on them.

10. Limitation of liability

Heardlist is free and provided as is. We do our best to keep the app working, but we can't promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that no data will ever be lost. We may change, pause, or shut down all or part of the service.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect damages or losses that arise when you use Heardlist. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know before it takes effect, in the app or in some other way, for example here on this page. If you keep using Heardlist after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't want to, you can delete your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If we can't reach an agreement, any dispute will be decided by a court of general jurisdiction in Sweden.
